Kesher Zion

Social Action Committee

The Kesher Zion Social Action Committee is comprised of congregants who work to address social injustices and advocate for positive change within the greater Reading community. Through our commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world), we strive to benefit those in need, educate others on critical issues, and mobilize community members to join our efforts. As a group, we have organized many successful drives to collect clothing, housewares, and books for distribution across our county and beyond. We have also raised funds and awareness for individuals with disabilities and those affected by tragedies. Additionally, the committee regularly prepares meals for a local shelter to help those experiencing food insecurity. We hope that these efforts help create a more just, equitable, and compassionate

Berks County.

The Kesher Zion Social Action Committee also collaborates with other local non-profits in their efforts to raise up our Reading community. We maintain a close partnership with the Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks, the Jewish Community Relations Council, the RCOS Social Action Committee, the Greater Reading Unity Coalition, and

Reading Cares.
